Q.How many people can the cottage accommodate?

A. The cottage can accommodate 4 people and 1 infant ( up to 2 years old)  in 2 bedrooms. There is a king sized bed and 2 single beds and a large travel cot

Q. Are dogs allowed.

A. No, we have made the decision not to allow any pets in the cottage 

Q. Is the cottage suitable for young children and families.

A. Yes. Families love staying here. There is a large, safely enclosed garden and we can provide a large cot, baby bath and high chair for our little visitors, all free of charge. Ballycastle is a family friendly town with a great beach. 

Q. How far from Ballycastle is Tornaroan Cottage and do I need a car? 

A. Tornaroan Cottage is in the countryside about 2 miles from Ballycastle. The nearest public transport is about 1 mile away but you would really need a car to enjoy the area fully. 

Q. Do you do reduced rates for 2 people only?

A. No. There is no reduction because the daily rate includes the use of the whole house (2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, lounge, kitchen, dining area and large garden) regardless of how many people are staying.

Q. Does the rental include towels and linen?

A. Yes. We provide high quality 100% cotton bed linen, towels and beach towels free of charge. 

Q. Is there a washing machine.

A. There is not a washing machine, however, we offer a complimentary laundry service for guests staying for a week or longer. There are laundry facilities in Ballyvoy and Ballycastle, you can also handwash items at the cottage and use the outdoor washing line.

For longer stays, bedding and towels are changed weekly. 

Q. Is there free secure parking.

A. Yes there is plenty of free off road secure parking available at the cottage. You can park in front of the cottage on the gravel drive (best to reverse in to make it easier to drive out) or in the dedicated space on the grassed area at the back marked ‘Parking for Tornaroan Cottage’.

Q. Do you have WiFi.

A. Yes. There is high speed Broadband internet connection provided free of charge. 

Q. Is the cottage in a quiet area.

A. Tornaroan Cottage is a detached cottage in the countryside a short drive from Ballycastle. We are located at the end of a small country road with only a few house nearby and with uninterrupted views over the sea to Rathlin Island. It is a surprisingly secluded location and away from any traffic or town noise yet you may hear sheep, birds, the sea and the occasional car, tractor or dog.
